Besides the obvious service of selling equipment and other goods, what does your company offer to its customers to help with their business?
While we call ourselves an equipment supplier, as a company Jensen is much more focused on building partnerships. This means offering a complete package of solutions that allow customers to improve their operational challenges and meet their production goals. This starts with our design philosophy of “doing more with less” and constantly raising the bar for efficiency.
Additionally, we serve as consultants for our customer’s laundry plant design and equipment sizing. For layout and installation, while most suppliers use the traditional method of hand measuring a laundry, we utilize an advanced 3D scanning technology that offers close to perfect accuracy.
Of course, a partnership does not end after installation and commissioning, and we have a robust portfolio of support services that to make it as easy as possible for our customers to keep their machines in operation. We offer free remote service support and diagnostics, and spare parts can be directly ordered at anytime through our online webshop – it even incorporates a picture identification function. Also, We offer preventative maintenance visits to help identify problems before they happen. Finally, we offer both online and in-person training programs on all of our equipment.
Give some examples of situations where you were able to help a plant because of your staff’s expertise.
A great example is during the Covid pandemic – we faced an unprecedented demand for isolation gowns that required bagging. We were able to design a special material handling drop station with conveyors and chutes to expedite the hand bagging process, successfully meeting healthcare usage demands. Furthermore, Jensen’s product specialists have decades of experience in each sector of the laundry industry. Their expertise allows us to provide tailored solutions focused on labor savings, production efficiency, and high-quality finishes, ensuring that we address the unique challenges of each plant effectively.
Additionally, we offer advanced AI and robotic soil sort solutions that eliminate manual sorting operations. These technological innovations have significantly streamlined processes and improved accuracy and productivity. Our team’s capabilities across various areas of laundry operations ensure that we consistently deliver innovative solutions that enhance workflow, optimize resources, and bolster overall plant efficiency.
Why do you think plant owners don’t think to call your company when they are having an issue you are able to help with?
We really do not seem to have this issue. For new customers, we are a global organization with a professional marketing department that reach all sectors of the markets we support. For existing customers, they have a variety of ways to easily access the Jensen team, including a help desk that is open seven days a week.
We have strong relationships at all levels from the owners, management and operations, and even the service team. We don’t see hesitation from customers to reach out to us, and I believe we have earned our customers’ trust by our commitment to the performance of our equipment and systems.
What else do you wish you could tell your customers to help them fully utilize your services?
We have the experience to identify ways to improve the efficiency of a laundry in ways that may not be recognized by a laundry’s in-house personnel. Jensen has a very wide product portfolio and an impressive wealth of experience, putting us in a unique position to assist laundries with discovering opportunities to improve efficiency. It could be by reducing labour or utility consumption, improving workflow or safety, increasing automation — the list goes on. We provide facility efficiency analyses as part of our services free of charge.
