2025 Tech Spotlight: GREENEARTH
SERIES: Happy New TECH!
In this final installment in our series, we look at the other side of new tech: proper training. GreenEarth’s Expanded Support program is designed to take the mystery out of new tech in your plant.
A second tweak to already high-performing technology is GreenEarth’s patented Virus Protection Process, which achieves 98% virus elimination of viruses like the Covid virus. Check out the details to both below.

GreenEarth’s Expanded Support Meets the Demands of Today’s Dry Cleaning Industry — Above and Beyond Service
GreenEarth® Cleaning has launched the Expanded Support Program, which provides Affiliates an extra 8 hours of dedicated time with a GreenEarth technician. The primary purpose is to offer more comprehensive training and maintenance assistance in all aspects of dry cleaning.
The visit is an invaluable learning experience. Affiliates work directly with a GreenEarth expert to observe best practices, gain hands-on training, and refine machine operation and maintenance skills. The goal is for the Affiliate to see tangible value in collaborating closely with a GreenEarth technician, ensuring that techniques learned during the visit have a lasting impact on daily operations.
What’s Covered During Expanded Visits
The services provided during the expanded visit included routine maintenance and advanced training. Some of the typical tasks GreenEarth technicians may assist with include:
- Routine Maintenance: The technician will guide the Affiliate through tasks listed in the routine maintenance schedule.
- Machine Optimization: Technicians will review machine settings, inspect filters, and ensure the equipment is optimized specifically for GreenEarth’s cleaning process.
- Employee Training: The technician will lead training sessions on key operational aspects such as the Morning Start-Up (7 Steps), load sorting, and selecting cleaning programs. New employees will also benefit from basic post-spotting strategies and “Dry Cleaning 101” team meetings to strengthen foundational knowledge.
- Machine Inspections: The technician will inspect heating and cooling coils, review vent tubes and hoses, and check various components to ensure everything functions properly.
This extended time together allows for a more thorough and personalized approach to machine setup, maintenance, and training, addressing any issues or questions that may arise on-site. Beyond the visit, the GreenEarth team will help the store keep track of its maintenance schedule with automated reminders.

Virus Protection for Contaminated Garments
The dry cleaning industry, long known for its consistency and reliability, faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. As businesses globally were impacted by quarantines, consumer behaviors shifted with the move toward hybrid and remote work models. With the recent push towards employees returning to a hybrid or full week office attendance, consumers have grown more conscious of the need to protect themselves against contaminants, driving a demand for services that go beyond basic cleaning.
GreenEarth Cleaning recognized this shift and responded by enhancing its sanitization process to achieve deactivation rates exceeding 98 percent on SARS-CoV-2 contaminated garments – without the introduction of any aggressive chemistry. As the industry landscape continues to evolve, adapting and restructuring services to meet consumer needs is vital.
U.S. Patent for Anti-Viral Drycleaning Process
GreenEarth Cleaning has been delivering exceptional results for 25 years, always prioritizing both consumers and those businesses providing garment care services. In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving high-level sanitization in garment care became more critical than ever. Rising to the challenge, the GreenEarth team worked closely with an independent research laboratory to test the effectiveness of its dry cleaning process. Initial results showed that heat alone during the drying step only had a 56% success rate in deactivating the COVID-19 virus.
However, through further testing and adjustments during the washing, extraction, and drying stages, GreenEarth Cleaning successfully achieved consistent deactivation rates exceeding 98 percent on SARS-CoV-2 contaminated fabrics. The vaporization step relies on elevated temperatures combined with GreenEarth’s low surface tension to create a vapor that penetrates the lipid layer of the virus and effectively eliminates it.
Unlike other laundry and dry cleaning methods that rely on aggressive chemistry to kill viruses and bacteria, GreenEarth’s patented modifications achieve viral eradication without the introduction of harmful chemicals. This innovation ensures that garments are sanitized without any detrimental effects on people, the environment, or the fabrics. In recognition of these advancements, GreenEarth Cleaning was awarded a U.S. patent for its Anti-Viral Dry Cleaning method, specifically designed to target lipid-layer viruses such as COVID-19
“We continue to achieve extremely high viral eradication without adding aggressive chemistry. With this innovation, we are providing an expanded level of care without doing harm to the environment, people, or their garments.”
– Tim Maxwell, CEO of GreenEarth Cleaning
